This is the last full day in Hong Kong for me and the girls,
as we’re going to Singapore tomorrow for a week!
One of the places in Hong Kong we’ve never yet taken the kids is Stanley, so we decided to go today. It’s very hot and sunny, so a perfect day to be at the shore. We hopped a bus to take us, and just 40 minutes later, found ourselves enjoying the sea view. Check out the scenery!!! We walked a bit, but by the time we did, it was lunch time, so the kids were complaining about being hungry. Stanley is a tourist area, so there are many little cafes and restaurants along the waterfront. Guess what my kids picked? Pizza Express. Again. Oh well, good food, clean restaurant, and reliable. We made a deal. I’d give in and have pizza for lunch in Stanley if they promised me lovely hotpot, just the four of us for dinner. We have had so many big family dinner obligations that I really just want a family dinner. They promised, so pizza it was! We walked around the waterfront area some more, saw the tourist shops, bought little, and the kids were whining about the heat. I walked over the very sharp-sand beach, and dipped my feet in the water. The sand is definitely not soft like the Caribbean , that’s for sure! After a brief gelato stop to fortify the kids for the bus trip back, we called it an afternoon and headed back to the city. Danny wanted to stop in the city to order a new custom suit, so I brought the kids back to the hotel on my own and he took care of that. The afternoon was almost over, so for once the kids didn’t get to swim. We have days of swimming ahead of us in Singapore, with both hotels having lovely pools, so I don’t feel too bad. Dinner was, as promised, lovely hotpot at my favourite place!!! We got there nice and early, and good thing. Being Friday night, it got very busy very quickly. We had tons of very good food, and the kids behaved really well. They usually do when it’s just the four of us, so it was a nice way to have a last dinner all together. Danny isn’t joining us in Singapore, he’s going into China with his mother. Just us girls exploring beautiful Singapore for six days. Taxi back (sounds familiar eh?) and called it a night. Packing up to leave tomorrow before I can sleep, so it’s a busy one. Amazing how much stuff you can spread around a little hotel room in one week! |
